(CNN) — In the three weeks since the Senate passed its version of health care reform, Democratic leaders, the White House and rank-and-file members of Congress have been working behind the scenes to find common ground between the House and Senate bills.Negotiations are expected to pick up as House lawmakers return to Capitol Hill this week. The Senate is back in session next week.
The two bills emerged after months of hearings, raucous town halls and rowdy protests. The House passed its version of the bill in November; the Senate voted on its plan Christmas Eve.
